Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American Sportcaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in the year of 2016. She is the daughter of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since the age nine years old a useful ability that allowed her to secure her first job as a production assistant for Univision in Miami where she had the opportunity to interact with producers of national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. A CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as the sports reporter. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 in order to join the team of reporters at Fox2 News, the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Covering stories relating to the trafficking of drugs and immigrants on the Texas as well as the Mexico border, she served as a reporter for news on both the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. The anchor also acted as a fill-in for weather and sports anchors. She was then the anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given larger responsibilities. She also covered all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason and finals FC Dallas as well. Besides this, she produced Univision 23's local sports broadcast Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor. She also served as anchoring the sports section of Despierta America Deportes morning show. In the same as a reporter for the magazine program Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd, 1985 in Mexico City. She is more mature than her younger sister. In 1992, her family relocated from Mexico and relocated to Miami. Their divorce was soon followed and her mother was remarried to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. In the summer vacation that she stayed with her younger sister and her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten a job. A senior in high school, and with a clear idea what she would like to accomplish with her life Antonietta visited her local University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her goals. The result was that she loved the campus and they had the program she was looking for. After completing her studies, she was admitted to the university to pursue a degree in Media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor of WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a participant. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence prompted her. In turn, she attempted to live up to his expectations and never fail him.
